Texas Is As Texas Does: New Gov. Abbot Plan To Bus Migrants To DC

Today, Texas Governor Greg Abbot announced a new plan to send “charter buses and flights” of undocumented migrants from borderland communities in Texas to Washington, DC. As Rolling Stone reports, Abbott proclaimed: “We are sending them to the United States Capitol where the Biden administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people that they are allowing to come across our border.” (Though, huge caveat in the Governor’s press release: “To board a bus or flight, a migrant must volunteer to be transported and show documentation from DHS.”)

This action is pretty consistent behavior for a guy who already sent his own forces to patrol the U.S. border in order to arrest migrants for trespassing and emptied prisons to fill with migrants.
