Immigrant of the Day: Samimullah Samim (Afghanistan), Afghan Air Force Pilot Now Wildfire Fighter

Our Immigrant of the Day (and here) is a former Afghan Air Force (AAF) Major Samimullah Samim who fought the Taliban and fled Kabul  in August 2021. “But rather than bombing and strafing Taliban positions as he did in the AAF, he’s targeting fires in the Pacific Northwest, using his piloting skills to combat a pressing threat in his adopted country.”

Samim made a difference in Afghanistan and is now making one in the United States.
