University of Chicago Global Human Rights Clinic Report: All I Want Is To Be Free

The Global Human Rights Clinic (GHRC) at the University of Chicago Law School has released a new report, “All I Want Is To Be Free.”  The report finds that 200,000 stateless people in the United States are at risk of prolonged, repeated, and arbitrary detention.  The report, released today in partnership with the non-profit organization United Stateless, draws on interviews with stateless individuals, and finds that stateless immigration detainees have remained in detention for months or years without any prospect of release, in violation of the U.S. Constitution and international human rights law.
