Where is VP Harris in the Latest Border “Crisis”?

Like today, the early days of the Biden administration were marked by news stories about migrants at the U.S./Mexico border. In March 2021, President Biden announced that Vice President Kamala Harris would be taking a foreign policy role in working with Mexico and Central American nations on the root causes of immigration. News outlets at the time reported that, “Harris will work on establishing a partnership with Mexico and the northern triangle of Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador.”

It is now the end of 2022 and another migrant “crisis” is in the news. Patrick Hauf for Fox News reports that the White House said yesterday “that it was unable to describe what Vice President Kamala Harris is doing to address the `root cause” of mass migration to the southern border, one of the major issues in her portfolio.”

“I don’t have anything to lay out specifically on what that work looks like,” press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said when asked about Harris’s role at a briefing.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was unable to specify on Vice President Kamala Harris’ role at the border. She “referred further questions about the vice president’s work to her office, which did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.”
