In “These three immigration issues will be the top stories of 2023,” Anna Giaritelli in the Washington Examiner identifies the three immigration stories that will be at the top of the news in 2023:

Border crisis.  Given the recent press attention to migrants at the U.S./Mexico border, the border will no doubt be in the news for weeks, if not the entire year.

“Showboat efforts by Republicans”.  In light of the recent actions by several state governors, I am not surprised that the issue is on the list.  I am surprised, however, that the list so accurately reports the nature of the “Showboat efforts by Republicans.”

Immigration reform on Capitol Hill:  Immigration reform will be a newsworthy issue until Congress passes immigration reform.
