Immigration concerns continued to deter immigrant families with children from safety net programs in 2021

The Urban Institute in a report (“Immigration concerns continued to deter immigrant families with children from safety net programs in 2021″) found that roughly 3 in 10 adults in immigrant families with children who have incomes below 400 percent of the federal poverty level reported avoiding noncash government benefits in the past year because of immigration-related concerns.
