Commentary: Being “anti-immigrant” is not a winning strategy for Biden in 2024

Eo_1-1-1200x1200

Boston University’s Sarah Sherman-Stokes cautions President Biden from going anti-immigrant in his reelection campaign. Some Democrats, such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., are demanding “closed borders.”

“As Biden’s reelection campaign begins in earnest, rather than hue toward the political center, the president should embrace a compassionate, common sense and lawful approach to immigration policy that deemphasizes enforcement and mass incarceration, and delivers on the unfulfilled promises from his previous campaign.”

The Biden administration is deploying troops to the border while lifting the Title 42 order.  The signals are mixed on which way the administration will go.  Stay tuned.
