Human Rights Watch Reports on a “Clamp Down on Migrants Rights in Italy”
Alice Autin of Human Rights Watch reports on a clamp down on migrants rights in Italy.
According to the HRW report, Italy has passed a new law that sharply restricts the rights of migrants arriving on the Mediterranean to Europe. The new law curtails the right to seek protection and access asylum. The law also extends the time that someone can be detained to 135 days and removes access to services in border “first reception centers” including access to legal information.
