ABA Journal Precedents: Supreme Court Affirms Birthright Citizenship of Wong Kim Ark

The ABA Journal was delivered to my box today. As I perused it for immigration news, I spotted a segment called “Perspectives.” Apparently these are historical pieces that appear on the last page of the journal.

This edition’s article is Supreme Court Affirms Birthright Citizenship of Wong Kim Ark.

The article is interesting in that it offers more background on Wong Kim Ark that appears in the Supreme Court opinion–his home birth in San Francisco, important events involving the Chinese community in California during his lifetime, his own travels to and from the U.S. and China.
