Asylum Rule Change Coming Tomorrow (Thursday May 9)

NPR reports that a “tweak” to asylum rules is coming tomorrow–one that will “fast-track deportations for some migrants.” Politico offers a few more details:

The forthcoming changes will address the stage at which migrants can be found ineligible to apply for and receive asylum…. allow[ing] the U.S. to expedite the removal of migrants whom officials see as potentially ineligible to stay in the country due to national security or public safety risks….”

Let’s see what they officially roll out tomorrow.
