EOIR Launches Respondent Access Portal
Yesterday, the Executive Office for Immigration Review announced the launch of its new Respondent Access Portal. This is “a secure online platform that allows unrepresented individuals who have a hearing scheduled before EOIR to view their case information and scheduled hearings online, download their electronic case file, and file documents with the immigration court.”
The portal is a terrific innovation that will help pro se litigants. As online commenters noted, only counsel could access such data online previously.
Another reminder of how dated the US immigration court system still is
EOIR just announced “Respondent Access Portal” where migrants can view case info online
Before, only registered attorneys could use the online system, which meant unrepped people were at a big disadvantage pic.twitter.com/PytNkh4fSV
