Laura Alexander, Ph.D.

Laura E. Alexander  for  The Conversation writes that, over the past few months, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has been locked in a court battle with Annunciation House, a network of shelters in the El Paso area that assists migrants with basic needs and legal aid.  Alexander observes that “[r]eligiously affiliated organizations can clash with politicians on humanitarian aid to migrants, raising issues around religious freedom and hospitality to newcomers.”
