Podcast: Views on First: Speech & the Border

The Knight First Amendment Institute, “Views on First: Speech & the Border,” a five-episode podcast season exploring how law and digital technology has reshaped and reinforced the government’s power to control the flow of information and ideas across borders.   

The trailer has just dropped, and we thought the series might be of interest to you and your students. 

“Views on First: Speech & the Border” hosts work through this topic with legal scholars, experts, and real people living at the intersection of speech and the border. Episode 1, which drops November 13, features historian Julia Rose Kraut and immigration activist Ravi Ragbir discussing the history of ideological exclusion in the United States. Future episodes look at the government’s online surveillance of visa applicants, phone searches at the border, and more.
