I stumbled across this migration-related event at a performing arts center literally across the street from UC Davis School of Law.  The UC Davis choral ensembles — which include the Concert Choir and the Chamber Singers — join to perform choral music with texts that often center on homeland and migration. The concert is titled “Seasons of Migration.”  It is on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts at UC Davis.

From India to China to Britain, Mexico, Africa, Syria and Iraq, the concert selections paint pictures of movement, faith and beauty across many cultures and time periods.

The program ends with J.S. Bach’s uplifting Magnificat in D major. Their performance of Bach’s Magnificat features a guest orchestra and soprano soloist Tiara Abraham.
