President-Elect Trump claims he’ll target ‘criminals’ for mass deportations – but also vows to end birthright citizenship

The weekend saw lots of coverage of an interview with President-Elect Donald Trump.  Trump vowed to deport “all” undocumented immigrants, with criminals as his first priority, in an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press which aired yesterday.

The president-elect outlined his mass deportation plan in the interview, telling moderator Kristen Welker that “you have to do it. It’s a very tough thing to do” when asked directly if he would “deport everyone who is here illegally over the next four years?”

President-Elect Trump also said that he would target birthright citizenship,  which is guaranteed by the 14th amendment.
