The Ten States With the Largest Undocumented Immigrant Populations

The United States is bracing for increased immigration enforcement with the inauguration of Donald Trump as President.  Newsweek has prepared a map of the states with the largest undocumented populations.  Here is the list of states:

1.  California 2.6 million

2.  Texas 2.1 million

3.  Florida 590,000

4.  New Jersey 490,000

5.  Illinois 420,000

6.  New York 410,000

7.  North Carolina 360,000

8.  Georgia 340,000

9.  Washington 340,000

10.  Arizona 290,000

Five of the states are in the North; five are in the South.

The 10 leading states combined represented 72 percent of the total unauthorized immigrant population.

Newsweek‘s map showing the top 10 states where undocumented immigrants are living draws on U.S. Department of Homeland Security data.
