Sign of the Times: Trump administration halts support for representing unaccompanied children in immigration court
The beat goes on. And it is devastating to immigrant communities.
The Associated Press reports that the Trump administration yesterday halted legal representation in immigration court for unaccompanied minors.
The Acacia Center for Justice says it serves 26,000 migrant children under its federal contract. The Interior Department gave no explanation for the stop-work order. The halt remains in effect until further notice. The Acacia Center released this response: Acacia Center for Justice Urges Immediate Restoration of Unaccompanied Children Program.
