2024 is Deadliest Year on Record for Migrants, New IOM Data Reveals

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MIGRATION:  Berlin/ Geneva, 21 March 2025 – At least 8,938 people died on migration routes worldwide in 2024, making it the deadliest year on record, according to new data collected by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
