Administration to Drop Sex Abuse Case against Child Migrant Shelter Org

SKP

Under Biden, the DOJ brought suit against Southwest Key Programs alleging sexual abuse by its employees. Southwest Key Programs is an organization that operates shelters for unaccompanied minors. And, yes, the issue is the sexual abuse of children aged 5 (FIVE!) to 17 in the care of Southwest Key Programs by the entity’s employees.

The DOJ is expected to file paperwork this week dismissing the suit. Southwest Key’s attorney argued that proceeding with the lawsuit could “hobble the administration’s goal do cracking down on illegal immigration.”

I learned about this story from Bloomberg News. It hasn’t really broken through to major news outlets, which seem to be focusing on the arrest of LPR Mahmoud Khalil (also awful, to be clear).

Y’all. It’s hard to find the will to follow immigration news these days. We need to keep our eyes open to the horror. But, man, is it taking a toll. This one makes me sick to my stomach.
