Event: A Landmark in Jeopardy: Texas and the Fate of Plyler v. Doe

“A Landmark in Jeopardy: Texas and the Fate of Plyler v. Doe” takes place on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 12:00 noon Central time. The panel will focus on recent efforts to overturn the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1982 decision guaranteeing undocumented students access to public schools under the Fourteenth Amendment. 

The panelists include Paige Duggins-Clay, Chief Legal Analyst, Intercultural Development Research Association; Jessica Lander, author of “Making Americans: Stories of Historic Struggles, New Ideas, and Inspiration in Immigrant Education”; Sabrina Rodriguez, Staff Attorney, Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund; and Dr. Celina Estrada Thomas, Executive Director, Texas Association of School Administrators.
