First migrants charged for entering military zone on US border

Reuters (“First migrants charged for entering military zone on US border” reports that the U.S. Department of Justice has begun the first prosecutions of migrants for unlawfully entering a military zone along the U.S./Mexico border as part of President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement operations. 28 migrants were charged in U.S. District Court in New Mexico earlier this week for crossing into the buffer zone patrolled by U.S. troops, according to court filings.
