Mistakes Will Be Made? U.S. citizen visiting Arizona detained by immigration agents for 10 days, family says
The Trump administration is acting with great fervor to purse its self-declared “mass deportation” campaign. It should not be surprising, as in the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, when mistakes are made. NBC reports that a U.S. citizen visiting Arizona was detained by immigration authorities for 10 days.
From the story, it sounds to me as if a mistake was made. Possibly confused or otherwise, the citizen apparently admitted to being undocumented and entering the country unlawfully. “The agency released a copy of a sworn statement signed by Hermosillo that says he was born in Mexico and is a citizen of Mexico. The statement says he was going to Tucson and entered the United States for work.”
After the citizen’s family presented documents establishing U.S. citizenship, he was released from detention.
