Wisconsin Judge Charged For Helping Undocumented Immigrant, “2-Year-Old U.S. Citizen Deported ‘With No Meaningful Process,’ Judge Suspects”
If this happened a few months ago, I would be surprised. But the daily immigration headlines in the second Trump administration never cease to amaze. Just a couple stories from my daily news sources:

A Milwaukee County Circuit judge was arrested by the FBI Friday and charged in federal court for allegedly helping an undocumented immigrant avoid arrest. Here is the criminal complaint. The Trump administration filed similar criminal charges — ultimately dismissed — in 2018 against a Massachusetts judge. NBC reports that Judge Dugan’s arrest came one day after federal authorities arrested a former New Mexico judge for allegedly harboring an undocumented immigrant with ties to the gang Tren de Aragua.
Asserting that “it is illegal and unconstitutional to deport” a U.S. citizen, a judge set a hearing to explore his “strong suspicion that the government just deported a U.S. citizen [a two year old] with no meaningful process.” As we have blogged, the Trump administration’s commitment to due process for noncitizens facing removal is at best uncertain.
