Amnesty International Briefing on Human Rights Violations at El Paso Immigrant Detention Facility
Amnesty International today released a new briefing exposing serious human rights violations against immigrants detained at the El Paso Service Processing Center (EPSPC), against the backdrop of the broader crackdown on immigrants under the Trump administration.
The briefing documents patterns of abuse and systemic violations. Dehumanized by Design: Human Rights Violations in El Paso, reveals mistreatment inside EPSPC and highlights stories of “enhanced – and sometimes unlawful” – immigration enforcement, and use of the Alien Enemies Act to categorize Venezuelans seeking safety as gang-affiliated and high risk, detain, and expel them.
