Deportations to Libya?

NPR reports that the Trump administration is considering deporting undocumented migrants to the North African nation of Libya.

This afternoon, lawyers filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts seeking an injunction against removal to Libya. The complaint indicates that removal to Libya is contemplated for migrants from Laotia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

Libya’s record with respect to migrants is not great. You may recall that in 2018 migrants captured in Libya reported being sold into slavery. And just this past February, mass graves of migrants were found in Libya.
