NEW Special Issue in the Journal on Migration and Human Security (JMHS)
The Journal on Migration and Human Security (JMHS) has published a new Special Issue: “The Right to Stay, Migrate and Return.” The full special issue can be downloaded here.
Here is a description of the many interesting contributions to the new volume:
This special edition of the seeks to flesh out and bring to life a concept called the “right to stay, migrate and return.” To that end, this volume integrates the overlapping work of academics; migrant and humanitarian actors; religious leaders; and experts on development, peace-building and -preservation, democracy and the rule of law. The special edition arose through engagement between the Center for Migration Studies of New York and academics and practitioners affiliated with the University of Notre Dame, who served as co-editors and contributors. The editors also thank the representatives of the Hope Border Institute, the Inter-American Foundation, and Jesuit Refugee Service for contributing to this volume. In addition, they thank their colleagues around the globe who strive to advance evidence-based migration policies and practices, and to transform (from forced to voluntary) decisions to stay, migrate and return.
