Podcast on President Trump’s Immigration Actions and Rapid Response Hotlines

Radio PacificHere is a podcast in which I try to put the first months of Trump’s administration in perspective and help us understand California’s unique and disturbing role in the country’s immigration history.

The second part of the podcast looks at Rapid Response Hotlines. These community-operated, 24/7 lines keep track of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in their neighborhoods and dispatch legal assistance to those in need.

To understand how rapid response hotlines work, Radio Pacific sat down with filmmaker Paloma Martinez, whose documentary Enforcement Hours follows the San Francisco Rapid Response Hotline during President Trump’s first term. Another guest on the podcast is Finn Palamaro, a staff member at Mission Action and the lead organizer on SF’s Rapid Response Hotline.
