Federal immigration raid at Home Depot in LA

News channels in Los Angeles are reporting that the Department of Homeland Security today carried out an immigration raid in Los Angeles that resulted in arrests.  According to Fox 11 in LA, “[t]he operation happened around 7 a.m. in the area surrounding a Home Depot on Wilshire Boulevard near MacArthur Park. FOX News reports the agents burst from the rear of a yellow moving truck then ran toward a group of people near a sidewalk food stand. . . . Department of Homeland Security officials told FOX News that the notorious MS-13 gang has a `chokehold’ on the area, which warranted such enforcement operations.”   A moving truck van?  

The U.S. government in early July conducted enforcement operations in MacArthur Park, a heavily Latina/o area.
