News from Florida: “Florida announces ‘Deportation Depot’ detention center”

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ administration is planning to open the state’s second immigration detention center at an empty state prison.  A court is considering challenges to the first, the Alligator Alcatraz facility.

The new center at the Baker Correctional Institution will hold more than 1,300 detainees, Governor DeSantis said.  “State officials have dubbed the new facility the `Deportation Depot.’”
